getting settled

I am finally starting to feel settled in my new place and I love it!!

Last weekend my dad and I moved everything from my old apartment to my new home. Boxes and boxes of clothes, decorations, kitchen supplies, night stands, a bed, a couch, a bookshelf, a dresser -- you name it, we moved it. It was a lot of work and quite the workout. (Thanks, dad!! I don't know what I would have done without you!!) Now is the fun part -- unpacking, organizing and decorating. I have a huge new room and it's really fun to find just the perfect place for all my special things.

My roommates, The Megans, were in Mexico until yesterday so they haven't started moving in yet. I am looking forward to having some company!!

I have been busy packing up all my things this week in preparation for this weekend's big move!! I'm sad to leave the wonderful apartment that Libby and I have lived in for two and a half years, but I am looking forward to something new. I have been on Queen Anne for almost four years now and I love it. My new home is on Capitol Hill with the Megans. It will be fun to explore a new neighborhood and have new roommates -- I am sure we will make some great memories. Our place is beautiful and I can't wait to start decorating!!

I took a trip to the Sculpture Park to practice taking some pictures... It was cloudy when I stated walking down there, but the sun came out and it turned out to be a beautiful day!!

I've been having some fun editing the pictures I've been taking -- So far I have just been teaching myself with articles I find on the Internet. But I hope that along with a photography class, I can take a Photoshop class soon!!

off to a good start

I had a great 27th birthday celebration with my friends and family... Saturday night I went out to dinner with Libby and the Megans at yummy Via Tribunali. We shared three delicious pizzas and some great wine! Then we headed over to a new place called Smith on Capitol Hill. Lots of my friends showed up and we had a blast! On Sunday, Libby and I walked around Greenlake before meeting up with friends at Spitfire to watch the Superbowl. Such a fun day!! And then tonight, my mom had a party for me and my family. She made the best mac n' cheese I have ever had and her famous cupcakes -- a birthday tradition!! Thank you to everyone for making this such a special day. I am so so lucky!!

a picture a day

I am going to take a picture every day -- starting today, on my 27th birthday.

I think it will be fun to see how I progress as I learn how to use my new camera and also, I think it will be neat to capture an entire year in pictures!!
